{Babies+Indiana Sunsets}

17 Jun

My aunt and uncle live up the road. Literally. Like 3 miles…maybe 4 miles…away. They like having me over for dinner. I like the opportunity to not have to figure out what to cook for just me. :) Plus, they have those silly alpacas, which are just too entertaining sometimes. And when they have babies…oh the babies…SO. FREAKIN’. CUTE. Combined with a good ol’ Indiana sunset…well…LOVE. Despite being named Dawn, I really prefer sunsets. And tonight’s was just lovely.

I finally got a picture of this sign they have hanging on the fence. It always makes me smile. They really do love their alpacas. It’s not even a joke. :)

And how can you not oh and ah over this adorable little thing?!

That one didn’t get you? Well, how about this one?

Yep, I thought that would work! :)

My favorite lady. She’s the only black one and I love that she’s the oddball. Of course.

Insane.

Ridiculous.

Amazing.

{Those Darn Alpacas}

Yep. Alpacas. Remember these little buggers?

I’m giving you another image of them today because…*drum roll* there are three new babies and a fourth on the way! And I’m going over to my aunt and uncle’s tomorrow to take pictures of them! SO. FREAKIN. CUTE! :) Aren’t you excited?! Hehe.

Also, totes unrelated…does anyone else ever feel like awesome photo ops always come up with driving? Why can’t they happen when I’m NOT preoccupied!? :)

{Olivander, like the wand guy}

I have amazing light in my apartment. Amazing. I have a friend who is trying to get pregnant right now…and when she does and I do belly photos, I’m totally making her do part of it here, because the lighting is FABULOUS. Here’s my kitty, Olivander, sitting in the fabulous light. You would think this was posed, but it’s not. He’s not that well behaved. :) This is a before and after post though! My first! Hooray!

SOOC:

A fine image. Adorable kitty. I like it SOOC a lot….until I plugged it into my computer and was able to do a few tweaks… :)

EDITED:

Better, yes? I, like most photogs, strive to take a photo that I could give to someone without editing. Editing is just to enhance it and “make it me”. I think my simple edits – all I did was a slight increase in saturation and a little selective sharpening in his face – make all the difference.

What do YOU think? Do you like this style of post from me? Wanna see more? Let me know!

{Internet Issues TO THE MAX}

15 May

I’m sorry. I’ve been a horrible blogger. Although maybe not as horrible as it seems being that I’ve no internet connection at home. If anyone wants to call AT&T and convince them not to keep me on hold for 20 minutes and that my address DOES exist, so maybe they should just hook it up already, that’d be fab. Quite frankly, they’re driving me crazy. To ease that crazy feeling, I went to the zoo today. It was slightly sprinkley, but I love me some animals. My favorite? Giraffes. I love giraffes. LOVE. :) I will leave you with a photo that I took this morning before the zoo, with my 50 mm, of my adorable kitty, Olivander. It’s like he posed. I usually have to try extra hard to get a good shot of him, but he has been so well behaved lately!

Unedited, unlabeled…so messy. :) But, of course, with the internet issue, I forgot my external hard drive back at my apartment, which has my watermark on it. Unedited, because I’m going to edit it and do a side-by-side comparison for you in a post soon…some have asked to see how I go about editing a bit. Your wish is my command. :) So enjoy my cuddly kitty on this cooler Indiana night, and I’ll see you tomorrow!

The Meyers

19 Jan

Merry Christmas! Okay…I know…it’s like a month late. But doesn’t christmas make you smile all year ’round like it does me? Sara works with me (we work for a little bakery-cafe company). She and I have basically got along splendidly ever since I met her and I can’t imagine not having her to call and “yell” at when I have a stressful day. You always need someone who understands your pain, right? :) Well, she wanted christmas card/family photos with her hubby and adorable puppy. I was happy to oblige, of course. The results were very fun! I hope I get to work with them again (in a photography way) very soon!
